| Summary | Add a project folder from a backup, another computer, or a moved location. |
Use Open Project when you have a Cicero project folder that isn’t in your Project Hub yet. For example:
- You restored a project from a backup
.zip - You copied a project from another computer
- You moved a project folder in File Explorer
- Cicero’s project list was reset
Open a project folder
Section titled “Open a project folder”- In the Project Hub, click Open Project in the top bar.
- Click Choose Folder….
- Select the project folder: the one that contains
project.dband anassetsfolder. - Click Select Folder.
The project appears in your grid with its name, details, banner, and all of its content.
Opening a folder doesn’t copy or move it. Cicero uses the folder exactly where it is.
If it doesn’t work
Section titled “If it doesn’t work”| Message or symptom | What it means | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| “This folder doesn’t look like a Cicero project. No project.db found.” | The folder you picked has no project.db inside it. |
You probably picked the folder one level up. Open it and select the folder inside. |
| “project.db exists but could not be opened, it may be corrupted or in use by another program.” | project.db is there, but Cicero can’t read it right now. |
Close other programs and pause any cloud-sync app, then try again. If it still fails, see A Project Won’t Open. |
| “… is already in your Projects list.” | That folder is already in your Project Hub. | Nothing to do. Look for its card in the grid. |
| Nothing happens | You closed the folder picker without choosing a folder. | Click Choose Folder… again. |
