Summary Relocate a project to another folder or drive from inside Cicero.

Move a project from inside Cicero so it always knows where the project is. If you move the folder in File Explorer instead, you’ll need to use Open Project afterward.

  1. Open the Project Hub. (You can’t move a project while it’s open.)

  2. Right-click the project’s card → Edit.

  3. Next to Save Location, click the folder button.

  4. Choose the folder you want the project to go into → click Select Folder.

The Save Location line updates to show the new path. Nothing has moved yet.

  5. Click Save Changes.

Cicero moves the whole project folder to the new location, then updates its project list. Moves to another drive (for example, an external drive) take longer, because every file is copied.

To cancel before saving, click Cancel or ×. The project stays where it was.

Situation Why Fix
A folder with the same name already exists there Cicero won’t overwrite another folder. Choose a different location, or rename the existing folder first.
You chose a folder inside the project itself A folder can’t be moved inside itself. Choose a location outside the project folder.
The location doesn’t exist or can’t be written to The drive may be disconnected, or you may not have permission. Reconnect the drive, or choose a folder in Documents.

If a move to another drive fails partway, Cicero deletes the partial copy and leaves your project where it was. The error appears in the Edit window, so you can fix the cause and try again.
